Ladies and Mens Pairs
The President of the C.B.A.I Mary Kelly-Rodgers joined us tonight for the ladies and mens pairs competition, There was a full house with 46 pairs playing in the ladies competition and 21 pairs in the mens competition. Unfortunately due to a problem on the night with the bridgemates the result of the ladies competition is still unavailable, but will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.
We apologise to all ladies concerned.

Congress Opens
The 42nd Bankers Bridge congress is up and running, The Congress was opened by
Dublin South President Gerry McKenna who thanked the Bankers club for their work by promoting bridge in the Dublin region for so many years.
He wished everyone well and good luck to all for the week ahead.

Thursdays Game
This week the week before our congress was a quite affair with only five and a half
tables in play. Before play we were joined by Jill Smith from the the Sunshine Fund
and our President Sheila Horkan presented a cheque for €1240 from the proceeds of
our annual charity night.

Thursdays Game
This week we held our annual charity night.
This years chosen charity iwas the Sunshine Fund which is run by the St Vincent De Paul
to give children from disadvantaged areas the holiday of a lifetime.The charity is running for the last 75 years and relies for all its funding from its own fundraising efferts.
Our bridge players again turned up trumps and were all very generous on the night
All money collected goes directly to the charity.

C.B.A.I Simultaneous
Pairs night
This week we had the C.B.A.I simultaneous pairs competition.
This is an excellent competition run by the C.B.A.I. where the same hands are played around the country on the same night and scored centrally, so you can see how you did.
There is also a small booklet of the hands with analysis to show the possible actions that should have happened

After the very bad weather and dangerous roads there was an excellent entry and atmosphere in the club for the start of the Ladies and Mens pairs competition.
An excellent job by our competition secretary saw an entry of fifteen pairs in both competitions (no problems with gender balancing here)
The scoring in both competitions is very close so all to play for next week
